I went to the Tool Factory Outlet in order to service a Husqvarna chainsaw that I received as a gift for Christmas (11 months prior). I was advised from Husqvarna customer service that this store was a certified dealer and repair center. The employee took a tone of immediate annoyance. I presented the receipt and described that I couldn't get the saw started. The gas was old, but I had mixed it properly and followed all proper instructions. I own and have owned throughout my life several gas powered machines, all of which I have kept in good working order. This was my first chainsaw and I understand that I may have missed something in terms of maintenance along the way. I was told that because it had been purchased at Lowe's (as a gift) nobody would even look at it and that he was, "doing me a favor". He looked at the fuel inside the tank and told me that it hadn't been mixed properly even though I had purchased it that morning in a pre-mixed container. To his credit, he was able to get it started after several attempts when I wasn't, but that's why I brought it there in the first place. He then told me he would "check it out", but that if it was user error it wouldn't be covered under warranty. All of this I understood but it still didn't cancel out the fact that it would need to be fixed if broken, which I conveyed to him. His response was that he was trying to prevent this future conversation over the phone. Well sorry to inconvenience you. I know that I'm not an expert on chainsaws but I also don't expect to be treated like an idiot, especially in front of other customers. A little courtesy and explanation goes a long way. There was no attempt by the employee to provide a solution to the problem. He merely stated a serious of issues that, "wouldn't be covered under warranty". Bottom Line: Never use old gas in a chainsaw (you can by pre-mixed ethanol free gas with a 2 year shelf life at The Home Depot) and don't shop at the Tool Factory Outlet unless you want to be criticized for your purchases and scolded like a child in public.
